Blessed Beltane!!

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

It's time to celebrate as the seasons are rotating swiftly!!

Beltane is the celebration that takes place on May 1st, which is about half way between Spring equinox and Summer solstice.

As we witness the transition from Spring drawing closer to a close... and as we get ready to enter into the 1st signs of Summer, you will notice the days growing longer, and I say ...

Happy Beltane to YOU!!

It's all about celebrating fire, fertility, and abundance!

This is a time to tap into the fire element to celebrate the coming of summer. Fire is known for it's ability to purify things, it's a way to cleanse and revitalize. Fire represents the return of the light as the days grow longer and summer begins it's journey on earth.

In many parts of the world, people who celebrate Beltane will gather and leap over the Beltane Fire to connect their mind, body and spirit. Couples will jump over the bon fire together to bless their union and ensure fertility. Leaping over the fire also is said to bring good fortune, fertility and happiness as the year carries onward.

Another way we celebrate Beltane is something you probably have heard before... the May Pole.

People have danced around the May Pole for centuries. It is a symbolic way to show the union between the Goddess (Female) and God (Male), creating a sacred circle of abundance. It symbolized the union of the Feminine and Masculine which is the major theme on May Day/Beltane.

The pole is usually a young cut tree which symbolized the masculine quality. During the festival, people would weave ribbons and foliage around the pole, symbolizing the feminine qualities... thus joining the two together.

Not everyone is going to have the opportunity to jump over the Beltane Fire, or even dance around the May Pole..... so here are some other

ways you can celebrate Beltane!!

Get Crafty

I made this little wind catcher to help celebrate, I used branches from my backyard tree.. hemp rope and ribbons. Each ribbon is related to a Chakra, but it serves as a dual purpose, the colors also correspond with some magick!!

You can use the info. below to put together your own ribbon spell on your tree.

Ribbon Spells

Basically you would use the color that corresponds with what your trying to achieve from the list below. Next, write your intentions on the ribbon and tie it on the tree. As the wind blows, it will send your intentions out into the Universe.

When you tie the knot, it's the magick that fixes your spells and focuses your intent. You can add some extra magick into your spell by anointing your ribbons with essential oils that match your intent. By using the color that corresponds with your intention below it will enhance your spell.
